Liverpool fans have reacted with delight to a shock report that Danny Ward could be given a chance to become the first-choice goalkeeper next season.
The Telegraph claim that Ward, who was the number three for the entirety of the 2017-18 campaign, has the opportunity to push for the number one jersey in pre-season.
It is said that Liverpool’s prime keeper transfer target is Roma’s Alisson but the “extravagant price” make the deal a difficult one and alternative options are being considered, including rehabilitating Loris Karius and handing Ward a huge promotion.
