Liverpool set for elusive £100m+ opportunity, biggest obstacle to windfall named - report

Liverpool are set to be invited to take part in a new 24-team Club World Cup which could earn clubs more than a £100million, according to The Times.
The newspaper claim that Fifa is pushing ahead with plans for the new tournament to be held every four years, and currently propose that the 24 clubs involved would share a pot of about £1.5 billion.
The Times report that the winner of the tournament could earn as much as £100 million and a guaranteed minimum £50 million if successful.
