The defeat to Real Madrid in the final was unfortunate but it can’t take away what Klopp has achieved at this football club. He has completed the transition. The Reds are well poised to give a fight to both the Manchester clubs for the title next season.

Some players were crucial for Liverpool’s remarkable season. With less than a week left for it to begin we look at some of the Reds who could be crucial for their Country.
Mohamed Salah
He had been in the Premier League before with Chelsea, but didn’t quite cut it. So was shipped out on loan and then eventually sold to Roma. When he was signed from Roma many eyebrows were raised.

But boy did he come back with a bang. Having scored 44 goals in all competitions for Liverpool he is a strong contender for the Balon d’Or. He suffered a shoulder injury in the Champions League final. Despite initial fears that he could miss the WC he has been added to the travelling squad.
Sadio Mané
He is a powerful player. He has pace, agility and an eye for a goal. But most importantly he is a warrior for the team. His ability to carry his team forward was evident in the Champions league final. After going 1-0 down in the first half he levelled the score and took the fight to Real Madrid. Eventually the goalkeeper’s mistake cost them the match.

He can certainly do the same for his national team. Senegal has some brilliant players like Idrissa Gueye, Kalidou Koulibaly, Keita Balde. The Liverpool talisman can inspire these players.

He is slick, he is fast and he can link up the play with the midfielders. He often comes deep to receive the ball and then tries to spread it to the wings to either Sané or Salah. If Firmino plays in a similar role in this Brazil team it would greatly influence their playing style. Neymar would be the biggest beneficiary because he is most likely to play in a free role.
